You’re Fyred!

Welp, after being gone a month, I guess it’s time for a return. Let’s get it!

Hot Mess #1: Ja Rule for planning the worst music festival in the history of festivals

93.5 KDAY's Krush Groove 2017

By now, I’m sure everyone has heard about the disastrous Fyre Festival that took place over the weekend. For anyone still in the dark, the Fyre Festival was marketed as a luxurious getaway on a beautiful island with A-list models and musicians. Though festival tickets sold for thousands of dollars, the conditions of the island, accommodations, and food were utterly third-world.

Yikes….

Now, a part of me wants to feel sorry for Ja Rule and his business partner/co-organizer, Billy McFarland, but it’s kind of hard to be sympathetic when you read stories about the situation.

Apparently, logistical planning for the festival wasn’t even in full swing 3 months ago…Like, how can you market a huge festival before even checking off the basics?? Not to mention, why would you choose a location that lacked the infrastructure to support your attendees, especially for your very first event???

Let me just say that I know a couple of people who used to work for Fyre Inc., and even they knew the company was trash. Fortunately, they were able to jump ship before this fiasco.

Anyways, I hope Ja Rule and McFarland are having fun with the $100 million lawsuit that was just sent their way.

Words of wisdom for Mr. Rule, don’t trust an inexperienced millennial with your business. As bold and confident as we millennials are, we don’t have all the answers and tend to overcommit.

Side note: 50 Cent is so petty. He immediately took to social media to troll his rapper rival about the entire situation.

Hot Mess #2: Fox News for just being a scandalous, sexually harassing mess

Bill O'Reilly

For years, Fox News has been under scrutiny for allowing alarming misogynistic and sexist behavior from male anchors and staff. However, with big players like Bill O’Reilly having huge ratings and backing from advertisers, the network did little to change their disturbing culture.

Luckily, advertisers are starting to come to their senses. Thanks to them pull commercials, Bill O’Reilly has FINALLY been kicked to the curb along with co-president, Bill Shine. In addition, Fox anchor, Jesse Watters, was also told to “take a vacation” after making suggestive comments about Ivanka Trump holding a microphone.

Give me a break, Jesse….. #hotmess

Hot Mess #3: Donald Trump for being what else, but a mess

It just wouldn’t be right if I didn’t add this one to the list. Honestly, I thought that he would escape being on here this week, but that was until he admitted in a Reuter’s interview that being president was harder than he thought it would be….

Trump says he thought being president would be easier than his old life

Seriously??

I’m literally at a lost for words….Not only do I now have to worry about being bombed by North Korea, but I also have to continuously worry about whether or not this nutjob man is fit enough to be president. Of course, I already know that he’s not fit or qualified for the role, but in an effort to not be mad at half of the country, I’m going to root for this man’s success.

p.s. Earlier today, it was reported that the Trump administration was planning to discontinue Michelle Obama’s Let Girls Learn program, a female education initiative. After major backlash, however, the White House is claiming that the announcement was not true and due to “internal confusion.”

WH denies it’s ending Michelle Obama’s ‘Let Girls Learn’ program

I understand that Trump and his people want to wipe away all things Obama, but some things just can’t be about politics. If a program is doing good work, who cares who founded it, just let it rock.

Oh, and in case you missed it, Trump recently asked “Why was there a Civil War?” Just Google it because I’m honestly too tired for this story as well.

With that said, I wonder what Donald Trump thinks of Jesse Watters’ comments about his daughter…

Side note: If you haven’t already, please watch Hasan Minhaj’s speech at the White House Correspondents Dinner. Hasan was funny, straight to the point, and fearless in his delivery.

Whether you’re a Trump supporter or not, it’s hard to deny a comedian who speaks the truth.
